the garden in late summer-8/25

the abundant rain has kept the garden green for late summer.  we are busy maintaining the beds and making plans for the coming change of season.
in the herb garden, we have a generic rose bush-the variety is unknown.  sadly, it has developed rose rosette disease and will have to be removed.

a tiny puffball mushroom hiding under the cat mint one of  the enabling beds.

dumpling squash hiding under the okra plants.

 okra plants

 the okra blooms are beautiful

we have moles running through the garden

now i know where the saying mountains out of molehills comes from-except this could be a small mountain in the making.

the advantage to arriving in the garden early, before the sun is up high in the sky, spider webs are easier to photograph.  not sure what type of spider this is but there are lots of them in the garden.

come on out and join us in the garden, never know what you will see!
