if you are brave, venture out to the garden during the rain and watch the new rain garden in action, it is working just as it should. when the rain cascades off the roof, it flows down the stream bed into the basin. the water collected in the basin slowly drains through the royal soil, removing the impurities and it is slowly absorbed by the plants!
tucked in the corner of ellington agricultural center is a somewhat secret garden; the demonstration and research garden for the davidson county master gardeners. join us as we dig in the dirt and watch the plants grow.

gotta love the mud...
nothing but rain, rain and more rain and lots and lots of mud; a bumper crop of weeds will be coming soon to your garden!!! and if they are in your garden, then they will be in our demo garden too! all of this rain has temporarily halted any of the plans for adding the new green roof garden structure to the demo garden as well as any of the other tasks that need attention. if we are lucky, the rain will slack off enough to allow the scheduled work day of May 9th to go on as scheduled. stay tuned!
